Whose lifetime

"Lifetime" here means yours: the warranty runs for as long as you own the house. Owner states whether it transfers to the next owner, and how many times.

What the manufacturer covers

Defects in the frame, the sash, the hardware and the seal of the glass unit, as set out in the maker's written warranty. Link to each manufacturer's warranty document

What we cover

Our installation: water getting in around the opening, a window that sticks or will not lock because of how it was set, gaps in our trim and caulking. Owner's installation term in years

What nobody covers

• Glass broken by impact: a ball, a branch, a ladder.
• Paint, stain or film you apply after installation.
• Damage from the house settling, flooding or later alterations.
• Restored original glass, which is old and may already carry flaws.
